As an update to this post from 2012, I have since struggled through recording this song myself. It is very primitive and simple in its production, but the message is there: "Slow down and contemplate the Savior, Jesus, at Christmas." In 2013, I wrote the children's Christmas book, "Michael's First Real Christmas" which I was blessed to have my daughter, Kat Ford, illustrate. I have teamed the watercolor illustrations of that book with the lyrics of "Away in the Manger This Year."
