Charles Stanley has written a powerful book entitled, Ministering Through Spiritual Gifts published by Nelson Impact. If you have not yet deciphered your own personal motivational gift, I would exhort you to follow my posts as I summarize Dr. Stanley's study from the In Touch Series. Dr. Stanley says, "I believe two things will happen as you truly understand who you are in Christ Jesus - and what your identity is within the Body of Christ. First, I believe you are going to be excited about your identity and the ways in which God desires to use you. Second, I believe you are going to be challenged to develop your gift and employ it to the best of your ability."1. Able to see resources; careful with money
2. Desire to feel a part of the work
3. Desire to have high-quality things
4. Hope that the gift is an answer to prayer
5. Desire to give secretly
6. Prefer to give without appeal (fundraising)
7. Are aware that money can corrupt; very wise with their money
8. Thrifty in what they purchase; ask the Lord first
9. Give to motivate others
10. Refuse to be in debt in order to have more resources for the Kingdom
11. Able to see final resources that others overlook
12. Want confirmation from mate
Ways people with the motivational gift of giving are misunderstood:
1. People think their focus is material;
2. May think they give for “voting” rights
3. Appear to pressure others to give
4. Lack of appeals of others could be seen as stingy
