Beyond The Pearl with scripture describing Heaven

In preparation for the writing of this story, I did very much what the kids in this tale do, I sought out all I could about Heaven in the Holy Scriptures. God has given us a clear vision regarding the Hope of Heaven.

Expect it, like a prize,

because it is a promise...

A living hope of things not seen,

laid up and bearing fruit.

A home in Heaven prepared for those

whose Hope is sealed in Jesus.

The security of the believer’s place in Heaven cannot be challenged. We know that Jesus has gone there and has prepared it for us. The imagery of Heaven is beyond comprehension, yet we have very specific details of the gemstones and precious metals that have been used in its construction. We also know that there is a River of Life, Tree of Life, Book of Life, The Throne of God, and those infamous gates of pearl.

Throughout the story the friends discuss the facts from scriptures as they muse about what those facts could imply. For instance, we know there is a river, but are there fish in the river? Do boats travel up and down it for transport? They conclude, “it was reasonable that, similar to earth, the rivers of Heaven could be used for transport and that they not only could support life, but they could be teaming with life ‘as on earth,’ only more bountiful.”

Every effort has been made to separate what The Word of God says about Heaven from even the least bit of conjecturing. Even the discussion regarding whether Jesus has a throne at the right hand of God is left unanswered with Little Lamb leaving it at, “Some things are just for God to know.”

The illustrations that represent Heaven are all from my imagination. The style is simplistic allowing the readers to use their own creativity to imagine the depth and breadth of what truly is Heaven.

As a final note, I have named the lookout point in the story is Ayin Mitzpor. It was derived from the Hebrew letter Ayin, the 16th letter in the Hebrew alphabet which is also the word for eye1. It symbolizes sight. The word mitzpor is the combination of the Hebrew words mitzpehfor for “lookout” and tzippor for “bird.2

May you find immense comfort in reading this book as you learn along with Ms. Dottie and the friends what is beyond the pearl where we have the

Promise we’ll be there.

It is Prepared for us;

Has eternal Preservation; and God’s Power Protects it.

It is of Precious, Praiseworthy glory, beauty, joy, and wonder.

It has the Presence of God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, saints, and angels and

It is a Pretty Priceless Prize only God could imagine!

My love to you all,

Miss Marion
