Little Lion, with scripture declaring the Kingship of Jesus

Little Lion
with scripture declaring the Kingship of Jesus

It was prophesied that Jesus would descend from the root of David, from the tribe of Judah. He was called the King of Kings, Lord of Lords1 long before His birth. Of His Kingship, we read that He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end,2 that He shall reign for ever and ever.3 Isaiah spoke of the throne, government, and kingdom of Jesus whom He refers to as Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.4

Here I have referenced scripture that supports the parallel characteristics of the lion and those of Jesus. Whereas the lion cub will grow to become the mighty leader of his kingdom, Jesus was, and is, and is to be from eternity past to the eternal future. Both the lion and Jesus have been decreed King; have a voice to be reckoned with; defeat their enemies; deliver the oppressed; are the predestined deity with a design to rule; have countless multitudes under their dominion; take delight in their kingdom; and have a face recognized as King.

The Bible references the Kingship of Jesus from Genesis through the book of Revelation. We know that His throne is for ever and ever,5 a throne of glory,6  a throne that the one who sits upon is worthy of Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power.7

May we all, from every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people8 give praise and honor to the LORD Jesus Christ, our savior and redeemer. May we

recognize His kingship. May we teach the generations to come of our dear King Jesus, AMEN and AMEN.

(1) Revelation 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

(2) Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

(3) Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

(4) Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,

Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

(5) Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

(6) Matthew 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

(7) Revelation 5:12-13 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13  And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I

saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

(8) Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every

nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
