Anticipation

For the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.
The flowers are springing up and the time
of the singing of birds has come. Yes, spring is here.
The leaves are coming out, and the grapevines are in blossom.
How delicious they smell!
 Song of Songs 2:11-13

The weather is finally warming up here in the southwest. The snows are melting. Spring is coming. Anticipation is in the air!

Can we have the hope that a tree with dead, broken, fallen branches will in  a few short weeks bud, flower, and produce  fruit?

Is there promise that roots in the ground will form plants that peek their heads through snow soaked soil?

Do  hummingbirds know to migrate north? Where are the butterflies? Cocoons gone? Will they too return with the warmth of spring.

"Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains." James 5:7

These things will come in their season. Such is the way of the universe. Life springs eternal... Find joy in the anticipation, let  appreciation abound, and thank the Lord for His creation. ~ M ~
